Condemnation of Antisemitic Violence and Expression of Solidarity with the Jewish Community Following the Attack in Sydney
OFFICIAL DIPLOMATIC COMMUNIQUÉ
Royal House of Ghassan
His Royal Highness Prince Gharios, on behalf of the Royal House of Ghassan, the Royal Household, and its administrators, officers, faculty, staff, and clergy, expresses profound sorrow upon learning of the horrific attack in Sydney and unequivocally condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the atrocity committed against members of the Jewish community gathered at Bondi Beach for a Hanukkah celebration.
This act constitutes a grave violation of fundamental principles of international law, including the inherent dignity of the human person and the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion, or belief, as affirmed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Articles 1 and 18, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Article 18. Violence directed at individuals or communities on the basis of religious identity undermines the rule of law, erodes social cohesion, and threatens the shared moral foundations upon which peaceful and pluralistic societies are built.
Reaffirming that peace, dialogue grounded in human rights, and the full protection of religious freedom are the only legitimate and effective means of fostering a culture of justice, dignity, and solidarity among peoples and faiths, His Royal Highness, as Grand Master, extends heartfelt condolences and spiritual support to the victims and their families, to the people of Australia, and to all those around the world who suffer from hatred and religiously motivated violence.
