Investiture and Honors - Priory of the USA and Florida Commandery

The 2026 Royal House of Ghassan Gathering will take place June 6–7, 2026, and will be hosted by the Priory of the United States in collaboration with the Commandery of Florida at the remarkable Ancient Spanish Monastery.

Originally constructed in the twelfth century in Segovia, Spain, and later reassembled in South Florida, the monastery offers a setting that beautifully embodies our shared heritage—where history, faith, and fellowship converge. Its cloisters and gardens will provide a meaningful space for reflection, connection, and celebration.

Registration is $300 per person and closes on May 15. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Saturday, June 6 – Ghassanid Encampment

We will begin the gathering with a morning encampment meeting at the hotel conference room following breakfast. This session will include:

  • Updates on the activities of the Royal House

  • Developments within the Royal Ghassanid Academy of Arts and Sciences

  • An address from HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor of Ghassan

We will also officially launch our new global initiative: Middle East: Common Ground.

This campaign seeks to foster understanding, dignity, and cooperation across one of the world’s most historically rich and complex regions. It is grounded in a deeper truth—that the Middle East is not only a place of conflict, but a cradle of faith, culture, resilience, and shared humanity.

This initiative is strengthened through partnerships with:

  • The Awareness Foundation (reconciliation and peacebuilding, particularly in Syria)

  • Good of All (humanitarian aid and sustainable development)

  • The International Society for Human Rights (advocacy for dignity and accountability)

Together, these collaborations ensure that this effort is not merely aspirational but impactful.

Saturday Fellowship Activities

  • Lunch at a local Cuban restaurant (self-pay)

  • Everglades experience

  • Dinner at Texas de Brazil (self-pay)

These shared experiences are designed to deepen fellowship and strengthen our growing international community.

Attire: Smart casual.

Sunday, June 7 – Honors Ceremony and Formal Dinner

The weekend will culminate in a formal Honors Ceremony and Dinner at the monastery. This special evening will recognize individuals whose service advances the humanitarian, cultural, and diplomatic mission of the Royal House of Ghassan.

Attire: Tropical Evening Formal Dress with minimal decorations (i.e., a neck cross, a star, and minitures) is requested to reflect the ceremonial dignity of the occasion. Remember the weather at this time is typically hot, humid, and wet.

For men, examples include a guayabera, especially a "presidential" guayabera, made of high-quality linen with subtle embroidery, as well as suits, dinner jackets, or tuxedos made of lightweight fabrics like linen, cotton, tropic wool, with a tie (bow tie or standard neck tie). Choose colors that suit warm climates, such as light neutrals, vibrant blues, or classic white/ivory. Key options include white, cream, light grey, or beige suits.

A tropical evening formal dress for women balances sophisticated, floor-length or elegant midi silhouettes with lightweight, breathable fabrics suitable for warm climates. Popular choices feature vibrant colors, botanical prints, flowy chiffon, satin, or lace, offering glamour without the heaviness of traditional velvet or dense fabrics.
